What to Expect at the Smart, Safe, Sustainable Summit on May 12th

The Smart, Safe, Sustainable Summit comes to its grand finale on May 12th with an all-day in-person event in London, and we’re pleased to announce our schedule and venues, which are also doing their part to be more sustainable.

Nash Conservatory at Kew Gardens

The day will kick off with panel discussions and a fireside chat held at the stunning Nash Conservatory at Kew Gardens, who recently made their commitment to join the Race to Zero carbon and become climate positive by 2030. In fact, Kew has a significant role to play in tackling the climate and biodiversity emergencies facing our planet, more details of which are available on their website.

room2 Chiswick

After lunch, we’ll head to room2 Chiswick for a sustainable building tour led by Summit Sustainability Ambassador and Lamington Group National Key Account Manager Jo Webb. This is the world’s first whole life net zero hometel, meaning that all the carbon emissions from concept through to end-of-life have been reduced and rebalanced to zero. The Goldsmiths’ Centre

In the evening we will conclude with a cocktail and canapés reception at the The Goldsmiths’ Centre. The Centre itself is operated by 39 solar panels and a heat recovery system, and is also on a renewable energy tariff, as the charity continues to expand their support for sustainable practices.

During this time, we’ll hear from Summit keynote speaker Juliet Kinsman, Sustainability Editor at Condé Nast, unveil the new features and tools developed as a result of the Design Thinking session on March 10th, and announce the Smart, Safe, Sustainable Honourees.
