Introducing the Get to Know Your Neighbourhood Feature in AltoSearch

Our Managed Budget workflow allows employees to search and book accommodation independently, but within the approved budget parameters set by their company or relocation manager. Our property search UI (user interface) has been designed especially for the global mobility sector, where the user is looking for a temporary home in a city that they may not be familiar with.

With this in mind, we developed the “Get to know your neighbourhood” feature, powered by Google API to educate the user on areas within an unfamiliar city. Restaurants, public transport, schools, hospitals, and shops can be toggled on and off with icons on the right side of the map. This feature was developed to quickly show which areas of a city are commercial, busy neighbourhoods with plenty of cafés and restaurants, and which areas are quieter and residential. Public transport links especially are often a crucial part of the decision-making process when choosing a location to live; now employees can see the train, metro, tram, and bus stops with just a click on the interactive map.

Our diverse range of customers made it important to allow a toggle on/ toggle off approach to all the features so they can view just what is important to them. We also wanted to leave the map as clutter-free as possible, so as default the map shows purely the street names and our property pins.

Along with our office commute feature, a detailed amenity filter, and a global portfolio of individually vetted and verified homes, AltoVita offers the best temporary housing search experience for the global mobility and business travel industry.
