About the winners
Viridian Apartments won the "Best Interior Design" award for its work with interior designer Hubbl, with judges highlighting “bright, airy and restful spaces” of its properties, as well as retaining links to its past, following its rebrand from Flying Butler to Viridian Apartments.
Charles Hope Apartments won the "Most Innovative Use of Technology" award because of a series of initiatives, from its ‘How to’ videos and QR codes to contactless technology and other platforms. It had truly mapped the customer journey, judges said, and was a great example of how listening to guests drives the right innovation decisions. “Charles Hope has successfully challenged the status quo of what happens once a guest checks-in,” they added.
Jacob Street Partners won the "Excellence in Safety & Security" award for its suite of insurance products for the global workforce, and its risk avoidance and claims reduction strategy, which were hailed as “very valuable for the industry” by the judges.
STAY Camden (and its designated Green Team) was honoured with the “Best Sustainability Initiative” awards, with judges impressed by its robust reporting, ECOSmart Certified Plus rating from Greengage, and demonstration of a well-thought out and coherent approach to sustainability.
Heliodoor was awarded the “Best Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Initiative” award for its company’s focus on both the employment of individuals, who face challenges with a traditional work environment, as well meeting various accessibility needs of guests. Judges said the entry was an ”inspiring read”.
The Residence won the "Best Hospitality Operator — Europe " award because it had really looked at the guest experience on multiple levels, and judges singled out its partnership with Gibbs Training, which covers mental health, stress relief and personal training, as well as this operator’s impressive sustainability initiatives.
Dream Inn Dubai received the "Best Hospitality Operator — Middle East & Africa” accolade because it had demonstrated a strong commitment to providing an excellent guest experience, and showed market dominance, growth, and employee recognition.
Kirsty Dunbar, Property & Compliance Manager, Viridian Apartments, was named "Rising Star" in a public vote. Dependable, efficient, a true 'starter-finisher’, pays meticulous attention to detail — these are just some of the descriptions bestowed on Kirsty by her company. Kirsty has risen up the ranks quickly at Viridian, and now looks after documentation management, risk assessment, and cost control across a portfolio of 500 apartments.
