“Extended-stay accommodation platform AltoVita has introduced geotagging technology to boost transparency around properties’ sustainability claims.
Announced at the company’s Smart, Safe, Sustainable Summit in London today, the development will allow users to ‘walk through’ any property on a smart device, with all images of sustainable initiatives – such as energy, water and waste management – geotagged to verify that the images were taken at that property.
AltoVita says the introduction of geotagging helps ‘promote sustainable travel and eliminate the risk of industry-wide greenwashing’ and incentivises travellers to pick more carbon neutral options.”
